DESCRIPTION: A late 17th/early 18th century Italian Baroque console table with African Breccia marble top; 34” x 72” x 34”.

PREVIOUS CONDITION: Base: Numerous repairs, retouches, etc.
Marble top: The table top was broken in half and reinforced from the back, and there are additional retouches, repairs, and fills.

NEW DAMAGE: The table top was broken in half at approximately the same location described in the previous condition section, and there are several small chips.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT: None; already restored prior to my inspection.
INSURED’S RESTORER’S FEE FOR TREATMENT: $    3,000.00
INSURED’S CLAIMED VALUE: $100,000.00 - $135,000.00
INSURED'S CLAIM: $  25,000.00 - $  35,000.00
LOSS IN VALUE: $    5,000.00
SCOPE OF CLAIM: $    8,000.00
COMMENT: As indicated in the insured’s paperwork, the insured’s claimed loss in value of $25,000.00 - $35,000.00 was predicated on the pristine condition of the table top.  I spoke with the insured, who is now fully aware that the top had been previously broken and repaired.
